Entire Abeokuta metropolis, Imeko Afon, Owode Egba: full list of seven affected cities, and when the residents should expect reconnection to power grid
A fresh power outage has rocked Abeokuta, Mowe and four other cities as the Transmission Company lost nine of its transmission towers.
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), which confirmed this, in a public announcement to the customers obtained by Platforms Africa, noted that the nine towers were lost to collapse and vandalism.

The destruction of “the
Papalanto/Abeokuta 132kV transmission line,” the utility firm said, ” has resulted to power outage being experienced by communities under Hill top, Poly road 1 and 2, Imeko, Lagos road, Midgal, Owode Egba, Eleweran, Mowe, and Industrial 33kV feeders, the entire Abeokuta township, Imeko, Ayetoro, Odeda, Owode Egba, Mowe and environs.”

POWER OUTAGE IN ABEOKUTA AND METROPOLIS DUE TO THE
VANDALISM AND COLLAPSE OF 9 TCN TOWERS
Dear Esteemed Customer,
Kindly note that the collapse of nine (9) TCN towers due to vandalism on the
Papalanto/Abeokuta 132kV transmission line has resulted to power outage being
experienced by communities under Hill top, Poly road 1 and 2, Imeko, Lagos road,
Midgal, Owode Egba, Eleweran, Mowe, and Industrial 33kV feeders, the entire Abeokuta
township, Imeko, Ayetoro, Odeda, Owode Egba, Mowe and environs.
Our technical team is working with TCN to map out alternate means of supply to the
affected communities.
